Conversion of a locally listed commercial building in the heart of Warrington town centre, providing 10 new apartments.

PHA are currently advising on the phased conversion of the former Burtons Store in the heart of Warrington town centre. The locally listed building sits on a prominent intersection within the Bridge Street Conservation Area close to local retail and leisure facilities.

Sat above retained retail units the project aims to replace existing, partially vacant, office space with a mixture of 1 bed and 2 bed apartments.

Working within the fabric and constraints of the existing building, the proposals minimise external changes to the high street frontages, mitigating any potential impact on local heritage assets.

Overall the project provides 10no. new dwellings, split over two floors, and new common areas. All the 2 bed units feature a dual aspect and the proposals embrace existing historic features such as the large windows and impressive floor to ceiling heights to create a series of high-quality dwellings.
