Previous Experience

Paul Hughes – BA (Hons) BArch ARB

Paul studied at the Manchester School of Architecture and qualified as an architect in 2007.

Before forming PHA in 2019 Paul led a significant number of high profile and award winning schemes while working at some of UK’s leading practices including John McAslan + Partners and Sheppard Robson.

In 2015 Paul was awarded the inaugural RIBA North West “Project Architect of the Year Award” for his work leading the design and delivery of the Lancaster University Engineering Building on behalf of JMP.

 Paul believes in the benefits of raising the public interest in art and architecture. He has lectured for the RIBA, acted as a student mentor, been involved with community art projects and has presented workshops and talks on architecture at a number of schools.
